Time: 9:30am to 5:00pm

Location: Chartwell Church, Oakville Ontario

About this Workshop

Chris Heuretz has spent his life bearing witness to the possibility of hope among a world that has legitimate reasons to question God’s goodness. Chris has taught the Enneagram all over the world and is the author of the widely popular book, The Sacred Enneagram: Finding Your Unique Path to Spiritual Growth.

In this workshop:

  • Why Do I Think, Feel, and Act in the Ways I Do? Introducing the basics through a brief & curated summary of the nine types to help identify your personal type. This includes your healthy and unhealthy behaviors, why you became the number you are, your fundamental needs, basic fears, passions, fixations, and invitations to spiritual growth.

  • What is the Shape of my Tragic Flaw and How Do I Grow with It? An explanation of the passions of the Enneagram to help understand how your habits act as coping mechanisms and how can you overcome them to be more whole.

  • Why Do I Get Stuck Personally, Professionally, and Spiritually? An examination of the Enneagram’s conflict avoidance styles and social styles with useful suggestions for practical application.

  • What are my innate impulses and how do they help and hinder my movement in the world? Exploring Instincts and Subtypes and learning to observe our impulses as they relate to the Enneagram’s instinctual drives.

  • Exciting glimpse into Chris’s forthcoming book, The Enneagram of Belonging (late Spring 2020)

About Chris

Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Chris studied at Asbury University in Kentucky before moving to India where he was mentored by Mother Teresa for three years. While living in India, he helped launch South Asia’s first pediatric AIDS care home, creating a safe haven for children.

In 2012 Chris and his wife Phileena launched Gravity, a Center for Contemplative Activism.

Named one of Outreach magazine’s “30 Emerging Influencers Reshaping Leadership,” Chris is a curator of unlikely friendships, an instigator for good, a champion of collaboration, and a witness to hope, Chris fights for a renewal of contemplative activism.

What if I’ve heard Chris speak before? Will it be the same content?

If you’ve ever heard Chris teach before, you know it’s undeniably an unforgettable experience. The pace, vast knowledge, humour, honesty, and compassion with which he shares the wisdom of the Enneagram is a gift.

This workshop will include elements of his teaching from the Sacred Enneagram, as well as new content from his upcoming book (dropping Spring 2020).

Is this workshop appropriate for people new to the Enneagram, or only those with some familiarity with it?

Both. Because the Enneagram is complex and full of layered wisdom for our own growth, the sessions will support both those who are newer to the Enneagram, and those who have more familiarity with it. Each time you attend an Enneagram workshop, you are able to go deeper into your own personal development, and we trust this workshop will have new and important gifts for each person who attends.

Are there financial scholarships offered for this event?

Yes. If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, please use this link to apply. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2020. Do not register for the event using the regular purchase and registration button (above on page). We will be notifying you if you have received a scholarship (or not) by mid March. Please note: There are limited scholarships and no guarantee that there will be spots left if you don’t happen to receive a scholarship.

We’re grateful to these generous partners for helping to make the scholarships a reality.

Where can I find lunch nearby? Can I bring my own?

You will find a range of options within five to ten minutes away. We’ll make suggestions at the workshop. You will have an hour to find a local eatery nearby, or feel free to bring your own sack lunch and enjoy eating around tables with others at the workshop venue. We’ll provide cold drinks for purchase at the lunch. Water will also be available.

I don't know which Enneagram number I lead with.  How can I find out before the workshop?

There are plenty of online assessments you can take prior to the workshop.  We suggest taking an online assessment like these ones we've provided below, and then spend time with online descriptions of each type. Live with the descriptions for a while and slow the process down. It can take some people quite a bit of time to really identity with a specific number.

You don’t need to know which number you lead with before the workshop.
